Hi, I’m Ty.

I never imagined I would become a full-time photographer.

I studied sociology in college and was accepted into a PhD program to continue research. Photography started as a passing interest - taking landscape photos on my Google Pixel. But in early 2021, when I received my stimulus check, I took a chance on myself and bought a Sony A6000.

From the beginning, I knew I saw the world differently. I was drawn to atmosphere - the mystique of nighttime, dramatic environments, and cinematic composition. Even before I became a technically refined editor, I was a visual storyteller. I saw creative potential in places others overlooked.

I pushed myself into challenging locations - low light, mixed colors, difficult environments - and learned how to transform them through intentional editing. I gravitated toward bold, saturated, high-contrast imagery at a time when muted and “true-to-life” aesthetics dominated online. There wasn’t a clear template for what I was creating, so I built my style independently.

In my early years, I operated quietly - growing a small but engaged community while relentlessly expanding my technical and creative skillset. I made a personal rule never to shoot in the same place twice. That discipline forced me to adapt, experiment, and refine my eye. Over time, my portfolio became a collection of unconventional spaces, each transformed with intention.

Eventually, photographers - even those more experienced than me - began telling me my work reignited their creativity. That’s when I realized this wasn’t just a hobby. It was a voice.

After losing my job in late 2023, I committed fully to sharing that voice. Since then, I’ve worked with incredible clients and brands while continuing to evolve artistically.

In 2024, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Photography became more than craft - it became purpose. The community I had built showed up for me in ways I’ll never forget. Walking through vulnerability reshaped how I approach my work. I don’t take moments lightly. I understand what it means to feel seen, and I carry that responsibility into every session.

I’m now in remission. On the other side of that chapter, my goal is simple: to become the greatest artist I can be - and to create work that feels bold, intentional, and emotionally resonant.

If you’re here, I’m glad our paths crossed.
